Tub/Shower Diverter Replacement

So I removed our old Tub/Shower Diverter because more water would still leak out of the faucet instead of coming out of the shower head.

Lo and behold, when I removed it, I found the copper pipe wasn't threaded at the end but the replacement one I bought at Home Depot requires it.

Since I'm unfamiliar with the proper terminology, I don't even know what to search for on the internet to find the type of Diverter I actually need so I hoping someone can just tell me what kind of Shower Diverter I need.

Uh, not 100% sure to be honest.

It's the main spout in the tub. You pull the little diverter handle up and then the water comes out at the top (i.e. the shower head). Otherwise it flows out and is used to fill the tub.

So I guess it's a diverter spout?
