My toliet not filling with water

When i flush my toliet it is not refilling with water, and the water to the toliet is on what should i do at home before having to call a plumber?

It is likely that your flush valve (the tall thing standing up) needs adjusted, or it has just failed.

The 400A valve we use is about $5 and can be replaced in 15 minutes even if you've never done it before.

Yeah you are right i need to replace the flush valve but my daughter had turn the water off at the wall and that's the real reason it never filled with water thanks.
