Toilets gurgle from washer and sewer fly infestation
Over the past few days my toilets started to gurgle when the washer is running. The gurgling tends to suck the standing water out of the bowls. Water also briefly backs up in the both bathtubs. The toilets seem to flush okay but do emit some bubbles upon flushing.

It is my understanding from searching that this problem is caused by clogged vent pipes. I've used a snake (20-25') on all three pipes on my roof, which are mostly in-line with each other. I bottomed out on two and wasn't quite long enough on the third. Either way, I found no blockage.

The only two variables that have changed recently, prior to the gurgling, is that we changed brands of toilet paper and we had a house guest for a few days. I also seem to have a recent outbreak of sewer flies over the past month.

    1. Is it possible the flies have anything to do with the gurgling?
    2. I heard that I can further try to flush my vent pipes with a garden hose and a high pressure nozzle from the roof. Any problems with trying this?
    3. Could it be that my guest clogged the sewer (city) pipe somewhat which is causing this problem?

I know that the gurgling has been asked often and apologize for bringing it back up again. Thanks for any tips you can give.
