When I flush my toilet, it usually leaves the poo behind. Everything else flushes away except for the poo. The poo just sits at the bottom of the bowl.

When the water flushes down, it appears to be quite powerful. Maybe there is a lack of suction or something, I don't know.

It can usually take up 7 or 8 flushes until the poo goes

Sometimes, when the poo does go. It comes back again too.

I do not think it is my diet as this has been on going since I moved into this place. Other people who have used my toilet have also had the same problem.

I wonder if there is a quick fix ? Mayb something which I can pour down the toilet

The first thing to check is if the chain to the flapper valve in the tank is too long so that it isn't opening the flapper all the way. Next you need to know if the sewer beneath the toilet is partly clogged, slowing the flow. The bowl would empty slowly. In that case hard plunging or drain cleaner (drano) could help. In many toilets, when you flush, the water goes two places. There is the rinse water that you see coming from under the rim of the bowl and another, stronger stream that goes into the trap section or "siphon" under the bowl. It is that stream that gets the flow going fast and empties the bowl. It sounds like maybe that part is partially clogged. If you can see the outlet you can try a narrow "bottle brush" or just a coat hanger wire to try to free it. That's about all I have to offer from my home experiences. The following is the instruction from, Tom he is the expert, follow his instruction.

Look down at the bottom of the bowl. If there is a small hole, then that is a jet that starts the siphon action. If it's clogged the water will just swirl around and slowly go down leaving solids behind. Take your finger, (UGH! ) and run it around the inside of the opening. Over the years minerals build up and cut down on the siphon (flush) action. If it is rough or you feel build up, take a table knife and put a bend in it to get around the curve in the bowl and chip and scrap it clear. Next take a coat hanger and clear out the holes around the rim. They start the swirling action. And last, check the water level in the tank. It should be 1/2" below the top of the over flow tube. And speaking of the overflow tube, Make sure the small 1/8" tube from the ballcock to the white overflow tube is connected so it discharges in it and that it's flowing when the ballcock fills. This is what raises the water level in the bowl. For a Good solid flush they all have to work together. Hope this helps.

If the above wouldn't help, then you would need to use an Auger to clear the drain, see the Image below, good luck.

I agree with John and Tom's advice. From my experience it usually is presence of obstruction in the bowl itself. Like they said in previous post: use 5' auger and clean the bowl. Btw: every HomeOwner should own this auger. It costs $20.00 and will safe you hundreds over the time.

I think the reason why my toilet is not flushing away the poo is because the flush is not providing enough water.
I believe this is the case because it does seem to flush. Paper and everything else does flush, which suggest to me that there isn't really a blockage.
I also tried to plunger.
I opened the water tank to have a look at the chain as suggested. There isn't one.
The toilet, an old one in design, probably older than me, is controlled by a button. This button is connected by a green plastic cable of some time to a central flushing machanism.
When I press the button, I see nothing happen except for the central control releasing the water.
I am wanting it to release more water quickly and there by causing the syphon effect and flushing the toilet.
Any suggestions?

If you think you don't have enough water than raise water level in the tank all to the way, about 1/4" below the overflow tube.

Post make/brand/model number of your toilet. Or snap a photo of it and of the interior of the tank so we can see what we're dealing with...

Any idea how to make it flush bigger and more ? Hopefully that would help flush away the poo.

You can see the button for the flush on the top right of the tank.
This has a small green cable the connects to the central thing which I assume is the flush controller.

Any ideas?

I am not familiar with the system you have posted. So , sorry, I cannot comment on its functionality. Only thing I am noticing is that overflow tube has a small, 1/4" opening for bowl fill tube. That tube is not there nor do I see it any where attached inside the tank. That tube fills th bowl after each flush.

Tom is our toilet super Expert. Maybe he will recognize the fill valve.

What you're seeing is a plastic cap that slides over the end of the over flow tube. It's only function is the secure the 1/4" tube that directs water to the bowl as the tank fills. The 1/4" bowl fill tube is missing. That might be part of your problem. If you have a low bowl leve, (is the bowl level low?)l it would affect the flush. I don't recognize the ballcock either.
Another thing might be a clogged jet, (if you have one. Older toilets were gravity flushers instead of being jetted)
