Toilet flapper won't stay up for full flush
I've spent the weekend replacing all the parts in my 20 year old toilet tank and I can't get a full flush. The lift rod has about 3 inches of upward movement when I push it and this is not enough to pull the rubber flapper all the way up so that it stays up through a full flush.
This is a small toilet and I have the fill tube positioned as close to the water control assembly as possible.
Should I be using a different type of overflow tube and flapper? How can I get a full flush?

    Hi WM2011

Look for a flapper with a foam float (see image) on the chain and then set the float all the way toward the flapper... that should work. Here, you pull the black plastic washers and reset them up or down to reset the float on the chain... lower equals longer float time.

Also, the chain should only have about 1/4" play until the handle engages the chain/flapper, so check that, too.

Let me know how you make out, OK?
