I replaced the entire PVC drain system (dual sink with dishwasher tee) under the kitchen sink which was chrome attached to a galvanized drain. The coupling to the cut galvanized is of the Fernco variety, so it's definately not as rigid as the previous install, but it's not going anywhere.

Problem is, ever since the replacement any drip going down the sink makes a very loud clink. What makes matters worse is that the Delta in faucet sprayer by design may drip slightly because if it's long flexible line.

Then with a wet dish rag or stuff in the strainer, you also get this annoying drip.

Dripping water intentionally into the drain yields the same result.

Any ideas besides re-plumbing it back in the chrome plated brass. Replace just the P-trap?

Doublr traps or contentious waste? how long does the rip last? Why not simply close off the basket strainers if it bothers you? The only suggection for you woiuld be to replace the branch tailpiece. I don['t think that replacing the trap will help. Your drip falls direct through the pipe to smack into center of the trap seal. you want it to slide down the pipe wall and not fall through the center. If you think you're going to contain any drips from entering the drain, forget it. the best you can do is to direct it to the pipe walls. good luck, Tom

Single trap. Asymetric drains. Trap directly under one strainer. Sink that's noisy is the one directly above the trap. The other side doesn't make any noise. So it's not the pipe down the wall.

I guess your right, replacing the tailpiece from the sink to the trap would make the most sense.

Made perfect sense the first time.

I can't figure out how to divert the drip or why the brass drain in the same configuration didn't have this problem.

KISS, Why not simply swing the trap over a bit so the drip will hiit side of the pipe wall somewhere on the way down and slide instead of drop into the trap seal. All the drip needs is to hit the pipe wall just before entering the trap. You won't have to swing that trap very much to achieve this. goodluck, Tom

Not sure if this will help at all Ron...but if you can't just swing the trap because the pipe is too rigid in this case then check out these flexible connectors/traps.

These might allow you to offset pipe so drip hits the side of pipe before entering trap (or could just offset directly out of trap).

I prefer rigid as possible.. but if the drip noise is excessive these might help.

Was able to change it from drip to gurgle to leak by rotating J trap.

I like the gurgle sound better.

We'll see what happens over the week.
