Studor Vents or AAV's(Air Admittance Valves) take the place of a regular vent through your roof. They mount downstream from the trap and perform a regular vents function. Install a upright tee between the trap and the wall stub out. Now glue in a Studor Vent and the fixture will be vented. Good luck, Tom

Only if a access panel is provided.
Since a AAV is a mechanical vent it can go bad. If it's inside a wall it can't be serviced so it's best to keep them where you can get at them. AAV's aren't allowed in some areas. Check your local codes. Good luck

Studor vents [ 1 Answers ]

Thank you for this site! My question is: can an uncapped, horizontal instead of vertical, without vent cover, studor vent in my kitchen emitt sewer gases? I have had respiratory irritation for several months, and have called my landlord and the city's code enforcement. They admit it was not...

Studor Vent [ 1 Answers ]

I recently got a new roof (flat) after Hurricane Wilma. My bathroom vent pipe had blown out through the roof and the roofers stupidly tarred over the drain. Not wanting to open up the roof, the contracted plumber said that a studor vent could be used instead of opening up the hole on the roof. Even...

Studor air gaps [ 2 Answers ]

I have checked out the Studor web site that Speedball reccomends and they say you can use their air gap and not go through the roof with the vent stack. Unless I missed it I haven't found any mention in any of the threads on here about venting this way. We are almost ready to go through the roof...
