    Hi Shelton:

A picture would really help. Can post at regular post, except "go advanced" and then "manage attachments" and then "browse" and then "upload" buttons to post pics.

Did you use putty or silicone to seal drain to shower?

    Get back to me... Mark

    Hi mark,

The stand up shower is in our upstairs bathroom and our pipes are exposed downstairs in the basement I can get to the pipes easy but it seems like it is missing something to seal it. Also we are using a silicone based sealant. We only put the sealant around the top part of the drain that fits inside the shower, and when we slide the black rubber ring thing and the bottom of the drain to the pipe after that we waited an hour to see if it sealed and of course it did not and it is worse than it was... I will get some pics and send them to you. Thanks again for your help.:)

Can you please help me... our stand up shower drain recently started leaking and we went to Lowe's and bought a new one... we put silicone sealant around the drain inside the shower but not underneath, we also tighten the nut inside the drain w/a screwdriver just like the directions said and underneath we put the black rubber gasket and screwed the other piece on on top of the pipe, we did not use any sealants or putty underneath and when we turned the water on it still leaks... can you please help me? Thank you so much!!

we put silicone sealant around the drain inside the shower]
Did you put the silicone underthe lip of the drain,(see image)and the rubber gasket underthe shower base? Does the floor "give a bit when you step into the shower? Where, exactly, is the leak coming from. The lip of the drain or underneath it?
, we did not use any sealants or putty underneath
Underneath what? The lip of the drain? The rubber gasket? Did you install the fiber gasket under the rubber one? Like Mark asked. A picture would be nice. Good luck Tom
