    Sprinkler pump
My sprinkler pump works fine I have good pressure but the pump makes a loud screaming sound. I think my neighbors are upset with me. How can I fix the problem?

If it is new, I would return it. It is either defective or poorly designed. It is time consumers resist unnecessarily noisy devices. If it has developed over time or quickly, the seal may be going bad. Unless it is an expensive pump, it may be about as cheap to replace it.

Check and lube the bearings on both the motor and the impeller shaft. If they are sealed then a bearing has cracked and the noise you hear is the bearing biting into the shaft and like Labman suggested, Replace or repair the pump. Cheers, Tom

    Replace
If I replace the pump, when disconnecting the old pump will I lose the prime on the well?

Not if there's a check valve on the suction line. Cheers, Tom

Sprinkler pump is losing its prime [ 1 Answers ]

Hi all... my sprinkler pump is losing its prime on a daily basis. I have a newly sodded lawn and need to water daily. Could it be the check valve causing this? The check valve has been rattling lately when the sprinklers are on. If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated. THanks.

Sprinkler System -- Air in line [ 2 Answers ]

Sprinkler System [ 3 Answers ]

My sprinkler system here in SW Florida is two years old. There are 5 programmable zones. However, lately whenever zones 1, 2, 3 or 4 are programmed ON, Zone 5 comes on (sympathetically?). An irrigation company has come 3 times to make repairs, but has been unsuccessful each time. They gave up and...
