    Gas Hot Water Heater will not stay lit
    Our gas hot water heater pilot will not stay lit? Any ideas why?

    Could be a defective thermocouple OR if it is the new style WH there could be a problem with the flame safeguard device.

    Thanks that is what I thought it may be. My husband just changed the thermocouple about a year and a half ago though. Could it go bad that fast?
