Water will not refill/ ball will not align in toilet
I have an ancient toilet,(1963 Elger model), which will not fill, and the ball isn''t dropping
Into the hole. I got an elger touch up kit but no luck. I have tried "Playing"" with the alignment for the ball drop, while the replacement parts don''t seem toi work. Time for a
New toilet or what? I also bought a wringle free supply tube but had to make a loop to
    Get a good fit.

By ball do you mean flush ball or flapper? What's a "wringle free supply tube" The supply that runs from the angle stop to the tank? What replacements parts did you install? What does a "Elger touch up kit consist of? Back tom you. Tom

    Toilet not working
The Elger touch up kit included the toilet flush valve,(Not used),a chain connecting the
Flush valve to a plastic arm,(Not used), a plastic U shaped unit which is used to guide the
Rubber ball into the hole, new rubber ball,(Not used), and hardware. The plastic U shaped unit is held in place by one of the toilet bolts inside the tank. I have two problems in order
1)The ball will not seat properly, and 2) The tank takes longer to refill IF the ball were to
    Drop into the hole.

I'm a bit confused, what is a touch up kit and why did you get one if your weren't needing so many parts. What exactly did you repair/replace? Is the an Elgier gravity flow like an E-force or a pressure assist?

Tom, this is a bit weird. Since your answer this same person posted the same basic question two more times later in the day. I asked the same question you asked, what's a touch up kit. Neither of us got an answer but the posting continues. Weird, huh.

Bob, I merged the posts. Hopefully he'll get back with some answers. Ask him what type of ballcock he has. Float ball or can. I want to know if his flush valve has hooks on it. If it has I know why the flapper/flush ball won't seat. Regards, tom

You should have used all of the parts in the kit except the U shaped piece and the fill valve. There should have been a flush handle with a very short arm that the beaded chain connects to and then the chain connectes to a plastic arm that is about five inches long. The flush ball is then connected to the plastic arm in the slot provided, The ball is then attached to the arm with the screw that was in the package, use the second hole in the arm. Now the arm will fit onto the U shaped piece that was in the package but you do not have to replace this piece unless the U shaped piece is broken, it should have both of the little things on each side, something like this -U-. I hope this helps Good Luck
