    Shower water pressure
    Master bath, separate shower has little to no hot water pressure. We have drained hot water heater for any clogged sediment and still nothing. House is 3 years old, what could be the problem? All other faucets in home are working fine.

    Hey Sandy,
    In all the shower heads sold nowadays they have a small neoprene washer with holes located just after the threads. This is a "water saver". Pry it out and you will have full volume. Check first for the neoprene washer, toss it and rubadub under a full stream. If that don't get it then shut off the water and open up the valve. Now remove the cartridge and check the hot water inlet port for crud or blockage. If you need assistance in taking the valve apart I'll need the name of the valve and its approximate age.     Thanks for responding, I know for sure it is not the shower head. We have taken it off and have checked it and it is all clear. It also is a fairly new shower head, replaced original 4 months ago.No problem with cold water spraying out. My feeling is that it might be internal somewhere. It is a moen tear drop shape single fixture. Original standard fixture from the builders 4 years ago. Hope it is enough info.Thanks again.

    OK! We'll go to "plan B". Check the cartridge and supply. Your in luck. My company installed nothing but Moen valves in their new construction. First turn off the water to the valve, then pry off the plate directly on top of the tear drop handle. You will find a screw underneath, remove that and pull out and up at the same time on the handle. Work it around a bit and it should come free. You will see a brass clip holding in the cartridge. Before you pull that clip, PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION AS TO HOW THE CARTRIDGE AND THE CLIP ARE POSITIONED IN THE VALVE BODY, yOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO INSTALL BACK IT THE SAME WAY. Pull the clip and take the white nylon tool that came with the new cartridge and try to break the cartridge free. If you can turn the cartridge pull up on the stem to remove the cartridge. For those'hard to remove cartridges' Moen makes a cartridge puller that can be purchased at your local plumbing store. Check the hot water inlet port for trash or crud. Or simply replace it. While the valve's still open turn on the hot water and flushb out the supply and valve body. You should gave a full stream if everything's clear Now just put everything back the opposite way you took it apart. More questions? I'm as close as a click. Good luck, Tom
