Shower drain caulking nut

I installed a new shower stall and base . The shower came with a new drain assembly using a caulking nut that I tightened. When I went to test the shower it leaked. I am wondering what I could have done wrong.thanks for any help.

Did you place plumbers putty or silicon jel under the lip or did you use the rubber washer? Look nat the image I've put up. A drain installs like this.
A small rope of plumbers putty or silicon jel under the lip and set the drain down on the shower base. Then underneath the rubber washer and under that the fiber anti-friction washer and last the nut. If this is the way you installed it click on back and tell me exactly where the leak is at and if not then take it apart and install it the correct way. Good luck, Tom

Hey Tom thanks for the reply.I used silicone caulk under the lip.then the rubber washer,fiber washer and plastic locknut. The leak is coming from in between the drain pipe and the plastic locknut.

The rubber and fiber washer is installed UNDER the shower base and not the lip isn't it? Cheers, Tom

Yes, they are under the base.

Is the leak coming from on top of the nut or from the drain line connection. If from the drain line is this a glue joint? Regards, Tom
