| New Bathroom in Basement Ok, I read as much as I can on the subject, but want to clarify a few things before begining this project.
I am putting a new bathroom in the basement. this will only be a toilet and a sink. It seems that there is no main vent stack in the house as each bathroom / sink area has its own vent on the roof.
Approximately 18" behind the wall where I am going to put in the new bathroom in the main sewer line, it penetrates the slab at that point.
Quesitons:
1. I found a 2" vent for the first floor bathroom ( toilet and sink ) that goes up to the roof. Can I just run a 1 1/2" vent from the new bathroom, sink drain, and tie into the 2 " vent?
2. The new toilet is literally only 18" from the main sewer line. I am cutting the cement out so I can run the 3" line to the main. Can I also just hook the sink drain, planning 2" line, into this?
3. When cutting out the cement slab for the 3" waste line I found a footing under the slab. There is no load bearing wall sitting on top of this so I am thinking it is a deadmans brace. Is there any issue with notching this to allow the new sewer line to pass through? The new toilet will actually be sitting almost directly on top of this footing.
4. Due to the short run do I need to put a clean out anywhere in this configuration?
5. Does the 3" waste line have to have a long sweep into the main sewer line?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
