I want to get a constant-pressure flow from my well-water system. I currently have the pressure-tank On/Off pressure settings at 45 & 75 psi.

I have noticed that there are numerous booster-pump systems out there, but they are expensive. Can I add my own, and what sort of pump would I need?

Also my existing water-softener has died, and I'm getting a lot of scale build-up on taps, etc. Suggestions for a new softener? How about the salt-free ones that are out there?
