    Septic pump check valve
My septic (effluent) pump runs about 5 times a day. This started about a week ago. I think it is my back-up valve. How do I remove and check valve? After I am finished how do I ensure that my pump is primed and working?

Does it have 2" piping? is there a 2" valve in line? What type of pipe? Do you have any leaking fixtures or other water running into the sump basin? Is the check valve white with 2" nuts or black with hose clamps?

Our crawl space gets water in it all the time. I think I have determined that what is happening is that water from the ditch where the sump pump drains is backing up the pipe into the sump pump and back into the crawl space. I've dug the ditch deeper, but because of clay we can only go so far. I...

It takes a long time and I'm afraid the pump will burn out. I prefer not to install a bulky check valve at then end of the line...

Sump Check Valve Chattering [ 7 Answers ]

I have a check valve for my sump pump output that chatters quite a lot at the end of each cycle when the pump runs. This is definitely coming from the check valve. It's a pretty standard rubber flap type. It would seem to be some kind of vapor lock/vaccuum/suction type problem, but I don't...

I am installing a washing machine and hooking into what was a shower drain. There will be no sink. I want to add a check valve to prevent dirty water flowing back into the washer in case of a clog. What type of check valve am I looking for? I haven't been able to find a suitable one at the...

Water heater check valve [ 1 Answers ]

My wife and I just moved into a new house. The builder bankrupted on us and left us with several problems. Most are readily fixable, but one has me a bit puzzled. There are two water heaters, one at each end of the house, connected properly. They connect to the water lines in parallel so that the...
