Tom said it: this is the only drain designed for your application. I think the Brasstech 237 is it. Don't forget to waterproof as high as the walls of the tub + 12" ...

I will post better photos of the drain than Tom's....but it is basically the same thing

Thanks guys on your comments. I have been search the internet a few days for the drains I need. Like Tom comments said, it may not work with the vinyl pan liner. The other product I see is from Oatey. They don't make the Roman tub drain anymore. Sucks. I have seen the brasstech 237 but it does not fit the tile type drains that can connect to the vinyl pan. I have only worked with vinyl pans and have never hot mopped. I don't really have the equiptment for it. More comfortable with the old style. If anyone finds a link to a site that has what I discribed it would make my day. Thanks.

This drain will fit both Liner and Hot Mop applications.

Since you plan on using your new tub as Roman Tub than you have to Hot Mop. Liner won't to. To find a hop-mop contractor, consult your Yellow Pages.

Sorry, not good at the terminolgy. I am referencing a flange type shower drain that works with a liner. And a roman tub top that would fit into the flange drain instead of a strainer. The actual project will mainly be used as a shower, 95% of the time. The bath option would need the roman tub top. So it only needs to hold water for a little while. Hopefully I don't have to do the Hot mop. Want to keep the costs down. Any link to a site with the flange drain, used with tile installation, and a roman tub top that will fit would help greatly. Thanks.

Did you ever find the right Oatey drain piece? I thought I had the right one and now my husband has mortared it in and the trim piece arrived and it does not fit

There is confusion in your terminology. Jacuzzi tub type drain and Soaker Tub ( aka Japanese Tub or Roman tub ) Drain are two completely different types of drains.

If you built your own tub that you had to waterproof yourself ( hot mop or PVC liner ) than it is called Soaker Tub (or Japanese Tub / Roman tub) and you have to use drain Tom and I suggested to you in above posts. This drain does not come with overflow. Here, you cannot use conventional Oatey tub drain with pop-up stopper.

If you purchased pre-made PVC shower base or any type of plastic tub with drain opening on the bottom than it will use conventional drains. For shower, you will use regular shower drain w/o stopper and for Jacuzzi and regular type tubs you will use Overflow Assembly.

They type of drain that works with liner is the one Tom and I suggested to you in our posts #2 and #3.
