Repairing a basement stall shower

There is an existing stall shower in the basement, however it isn't hooked up anymore. I want to fix it up and get it going, but I have never done anything like this before...any suggestions?

OK Tootsie,

Let's get started. First the drainage. Clean the debris from the shower floor and dump a few buckets of water down it. Does it drain away? Back to you Tootsie

post pictures so we can see what you're starting with. Also, what does "not hooked up" mean? I doubt they cut the plumbing away from the shower...
