    Remove tub and make into shower
    Wondering about how expensice it would be to remove shower doors and tub and make into a shower area only. Bought an older home from 1958. Add on bed and bath was in 1997 but I'd like just a shower are with no tub.

    Hard to come up with a cost which varies by location, extensiveness of remodel, price of shower, 1 piece, 3 piece, tiled? At a minimum you will need to remove the walls, tub, probably relocate some or all of the water supply and drains, build a new floor, etc. Not cheap. Why not remove the door, put in a bow type shower curtain, some new faucets with a fancy rain type showerhead and just use it as a shower? Lot cheaper

    I have something that may save you a lot of extra labor.Sweanstone makes a 60" retrofit shower base, (see image) That drops right into the space left by your tub. Check them out at;

    I have done several Swanstone retrofits. They are made for exactly your situation. The mixing valve needs to be replaced if you want this to look right but frequently the drain is in the right spot and lakes things easy.
