    Plumbing under slab
    I plan on moving my kitchen sink to an Island. I have a slab foundation. How much will this cost? How difficult is it?

    Plumbing under slab
    To move your sink to a center location from a wall you will need a loop or circuit vent for drainage. This means you will have to jackhammer up the slab from the stack over to where you wish to install your sink. A circuit vent consists of two pipes one over the other looping up from under the slab and picking up the sink from the bottom pipe and venting from the top one. If local codes permit you may be able to get away from the top pipe by using a Studor Spring Loaded Mechanical Vent. You will bring the water lines over in the same trench as the drainage. I live on the West coast of Florida where all our buildings are on slabs. This will be major surgery that you will be letting yourself in for so be prepared for some heavy labor costs. To give you a estimate I would have to see the job but you should get at least three estimates before you let the job out. Good luck and if you have more questions click on back. Tom

Tom, thanks for your help. I am understanding that I would just leave the horizontal run of pipe into the 14"x14" hole and that would leave me enough room for the rest of the plumbing, correct?
