plumbing for a first floor laundry

Hi; we have a two story house with full basement. We are wanting to move our laundry up to the first floor. I am questioning were I can find a guideline of required sizing of plumbing, correct materials and how to design a trap. We would like to run the plumbing down through the walls to the basement, but I don;t know were we can legally tie into what pipe and what the required sizes are. We are quite handy, but I do want to do to code. I'm having trouble finding a simple layout of this type of design and also trying to find the correct code we would have to use. We live in Columbus OH. Can anyone assist??
