Shower wall, I have just bought new system and was thinking the fittings would be the same being from Moen same as the old, but things change, and now I think the best way is to rip out the wall and just do the job right. There is just too much copper to pvc so if I leave line in, copper and just do the out lines in cpvc will that be OK?
And thanks for your speedy response. Ron

Both CPVC and copper have threaded male/female adapters. You need to solder the female adapter to the copper and glue/weld the male to the CPVC. Make sure you use purple primer on the CPVC and flux on the copper with lead free solder.

If you are unsure about soldering, look at the Shark Bite fittings. See plumbing supplies, Ace hardware, and I just saw them at Home Depot or Lowe's. Just make a neat cut and slide the fitting over the pipe. Works on copper or anything the same diameter. Pricey.

I worked as an instrument fitter during construction of a power plant

I have also worked as a mechanic in an industrial plant

There are many ways to join copper to pvc -- my answer is a union

Put a male adapter on the copper tube --- put a male adapter on pvc

Use the union to join them -- Unions are a plumbers friend

It will make any repairs easier -- Separate union --do work --connect again
