Only smells when someone takes a shower.

I have a very offensive sewage type odor in my bathroom. The problem is that I only smell it after I have taken a shower or bath. I have crawled under the house and there were no leaks. What is causing this????? I read something about rotting hair, what is that about, because I do lose a lot of hair down the drain. Please help!!!!!!!

Hello,

What you have probably heard is that most shower/bath clogs occur when hair mixes with grease from the soap to form great, rotting globs that clog your drain. It's also important to know that the rotting hair will smell rather unpleasant, to say the least

Here's what you do: tonight, before going to bed, pour about ½-gallon of bleach down the drain, and let it sit like that overnight. In the morning (and this part is important) flush the bleach out by pouring two pans of boiling water down the drain.

What happens is that the bleach spends all night eating away at the rotting hair, and the smell-causing bacteria; then in the morning, the boiling water melts the grease, allowing the whole mess to be flushed down the drain for good, leaving you with a nice, clean, pleasant shower drain.

Try it and let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Moishe
