    Odd smell in the water?
It comes and goes, but it seems to have stuck around for a while this time. It kind of smells like onions lol. Mostly noticeable when you turn on the shower... but sometimes you can smell it in a glass of ice water...

Is there something that I can do to get rid of this without having to go for a whole water system?

    Thanks!

    Are you on a well?
    Did it rain heavy there
Do you have a cartridge filter on a line in the house?
Do you have a water softener?
Do you have city water and was that worked on near your house
I bet you are thinking geee. I'm trying to get a full picture of your water system

    1) no.. City/town water (lake fed)
    2) no.. Snowed like hell lol... but its been a few weeks this time.. hasn't gone away
    3) no cartridge filter
    4) no water softener
    5) Yes, they did about 5 months ago...
    - had to go after them cause they raised our pressure so much we had leaks.. got them to pay for a pressure regulator (its a 100 year old house)

This smell comes and goes... I think even before they "fixed" things. Its just driving me nuts! More of an annoyance than a problem. Tastes fine - doesn't make you smell or anything. But just has a slight odor.

Can a get an inline filter or something that will cover the whol house?
Or should I just hit the sink/ ice maker? Any recommendations?

    Compare Shower Filter Brands

Whole House Water Filters offer quality water throughout the home. Lots of manufacturers avoid certification, ask for documentation of capacity and performance claims.
Compare Top 5 Whole House Filters

All performance claims and pricing were taken from the manufacturer's literature and certified claims.

Many models were considered and not included in this comparison because of undocumented or exaggerated performance claims. Some brands made exaggerated claims in their literature and on company web sites that did not match their "certified claims". Only performance claims that have been certified by NSF, UL or the CA. Dept. Of Health were included in our comparisons.

The water treatment industry is extremely regulated. Companies that market undocumented products, or make uncertified claims are heavily restricted as to how and where they can sell their products. Beware of products that offer different Performance Claims in different states. CA, WI, IA, and several other states, prohibit uncertified claims.

The lake is mainly for water supply. Boats are alow but only small outboards. Restricted to 5hp (or is it 5mph?) anyway. It's a regulated water supply.

Can you post the link to where you found that list?
    Thanks!
