    Noisy toilet , after flushing
Can you tell me how to fix a toilet that makes a noise after we flush it , it sounds like the boats are coming in every time , we can't wash our hands until it stops, it stops when the cistern has filled

You have a loose washer or a piece of mineral that's vibrating and the tank fills. I'm assuming that you have a float ball ballcock pictured on the right. If not click back and let me know.

What you hear is the washer vibrating against the ballcock seat. Shut off the stop under the tank and remove the three screws on top and cup your hand over the top and just crack the stop enough to flush out any trash that may be in there. After you do that pull the washer out of its holder and flip it over in its holder and reinstall the top and float. If this doesn't fix the problem click on back and let me know. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. TOM
