New vanity will not touch wall due to water valves

Asked Jan 3, 2012, 09:55 PM — 3 Answers
Bought 2 new Antibes but the drawers hit my high water valves. How can I fix this? I am not a plumber but can't afford to pay anyone at this moment

Cut the draws to clear the valves. Depending on way drawers were built will determine if u cut the back.

If drawer were built as a box with fronts added on it would be easier to make cut at front.

Remove front and make cut. Put back together with glue and small nails.

Good luck

Hi Terold and welcome to the Plumbing Page.
Chuck gave you one option.
Another would be ton open up the wall and lower the angle stops and supplies. You could leave the wall open as the vanity would cover it. I know this would involve bringing in a plumber but that's what I would do if I didn't want to cut up my vanity. Good luck in whatever you decide. Tom

From my experience, drawers usually end about 2 1/2" from the wall. That's enough to absorb angle stops. See if you can move the valves closer to the wall w/o cutting cabinetry or the wall. Back to you. Milo
