New basement washroom

Hi, 2 questions i have, I am developing my basement washroom and it already has the ruff ins, do i still have to install a trap on the tub or do the builders usely install it underground ?, and the drain pipe that is set for the tub is 1.6 feet to far from the wall so i need to bring it back towards to wall, what is the best way to do that, to break the ground and run it, or just put it flat to the floor ?

Thanks for the help

For a tub the builder will leave a tub dap-out, (see image).
If there's a pipe sticking up chances are a trap was installed. If there's a horizontal pipe down there you'll have to install a trap and raiser.
Do you have a tub dap-out, ( a square 12" hole)? Is all you have is a pipe coming outta the cement you're roughed in for a shower. Before I go any farther I must know what you're roughed in for. Let me know and we'll take it from there. Regards, Tom

Hi, thank you for your time, there is only a black pipe coming out of the floor concrete 1 1/2 inch pvc *didnt look but sure of the size*. It looks to me it is for a shower because of the way it was placed further away from the wall.

Thanks

For a tub installation you will have to have a 12" square hole in the floor pliu a trap and raiser because a tub waste connects to the trap raiser UNDER the floor line. A shower rough in won't have the hole but will have a piece of 2" sticking up outta the pour. What you have shown me is a opening in the pour. Is there a pipe sticking up out of that hole? I can't tell. In any respects it's too far out from the plate for a tub. You're gonna hafta fur out thatwall to pick up both a tub and to contain the lavatory drain and vent. Tubs rough in at 15 1/2" off the side wall and 1 1/2? off the front plate.
I need to know more about that opening in the floor. Take a hammer and tap around the opening. Sometimes there's a over pour and the dap-out's underneath. Let me know, Tom
