MOen single knob shower faucet problems?

Asked Jan 26, 2011, 04:38 PM — 4 Answers
When the knob on our Moen single-knob shower faucet is pointing at the 6 o'clock position (Which should be the "OFF" position) VERY hot water comes out at a low pressure. If the knob is turned to the 9 0'clock position, (which should be the maximum HOT position) very COLD water comes out. The water shuts off at the 4 o'clock position. We cannot get any water temp that is comfortable to use for showering. What's going on & how do we fix this? Thanks anyone who knows the answer...

Take knob or handle off, turn stem 180 degrees, reinstall knob or handle

I think Harold has it but skipped a step. After you remove the handle you must remove the small clip on top of the cartridge and then rotate 180 degrees, now reinstall the clip

Don't think so Bob, I think you just have to turn stem. Shouldn't be necessary to rotate body of cartridge.

Moen single knob bathtub faucet [ 1 Answers ]

I have a Moen single knob bathtub faucet. The plastic knob has broken -- just spins and won't turn the water on. I tried to take the screw out that holds the handle on, but can't get it to come off. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Moen Single knob tub faucet [ 2 Answers ]

Hi, Even when the knob is pushed all the way in, I have a slow drip coming from the lower spout (not the shower head). The normal knob operation is as follows: Pull for on, push to shut off, turn left for hot, turn right for cold. I removed the knob, then the circular brass plate, but I can't...
