Moen Positemp shower valve

I have a Moen Positemp shower valve and cannot get hot water. I pulled the cartridge out and there did not seem to be any obstructions. Suggestions?

Cover the valve hole with a towel where you removed the cartridge, have someone else turn your water back on and then off again to clear the lines. inspect the hot inlet for debris. How long has it been acting like this?

Hi all:

Like Ballenger said, cover the valve with a towel and purge the lines to clear any sediment.

If hot water is present and the line isn't clogged then the cartridge is bad and needs to be replaced. If you have time you can call 1800BUYMOEN and they will ship a new cartridge (within 10 business days) to you for free. Otherwise, a replacement cartridge can be purchased at any local plumbing supply company.

Pick up a little plumber's silicone grease to grease the O-RINGS prior to installing the new cartridge.

Good luck...

MARK
