main drain

my main sewer backed up 4 times a year. cost me $100 every time i called the plumber. what type of chemical can i used to prevent this. i have no tree in front of house at all. thank you in advanced

Hi Cub,

Untill you know for sure exactly what's causing the sewer to clog up you won't know what to use or do. Perhaps you have a broken pipe that's causing the back ups, Perhaps the sewer line sagged and now has a bell in it that traps the flow. You just don't know. Call the plumber that's been snaking the sewer and find out what he ran into out there. Hire a company that sends cameras through the pipes to locate any problems. After you know what you're up against you can then plot a course of action but not until. regards, Tom
