low water in toilet bowl

The water level in my toilet bowl has become much lower than it has always been. The toilet flushes completely and the tank fills completely however the bowl is about 2-3 inches lower than previously. This am a leak sprung from what appears to be the tank... I have turned off the water source.. Do I need a plumber or can this be fixed at home?

Thanks,
Joan

Hi Joan,

There are several things to check before you call in a plumber. First check that the rim holes are clear, they not only wash down the bowl they also help to fill it. The next thing to check is the little tube that runs from the top of the ballcock to the white overflow tube. You might also check the water level in the tank. The level wants to be 1/2' under the white overflow tube when the tank's full. Let me know.
Regards, Tom
