Low water pressure in this old house

All of a sudden, the water pressure in the house has dropped.
We are on a city sewer line and the water coming into the sinks in the basement. Any thoughts other than going into hock for a plumber?
Thanx

Whoa!! You have just discribed two distinct problems. A drop in water pressure and a sewer back up. One problem has to do with liquid entering the house, (water pressure) and the other deals with liquid leaving the house, (sewer back up.) Are you saying that both problems happened at the same time? There are different repairs for each situation, so if you could be a tad more specific in your complaint that would help us a lot in solving your problem. regards, Tom
