low water pressure new well pump is it the Water softener?

Hi, again
I called a well service Co. and they replaced my well pump. It was barely functioning. Strangly the pervious install was a 220 volt pump and it was connected to 110, and it worked. That pump was about 20 years old.
The new pump is a 110 volt pump.
My problem now is occasional low pressure. The pressure is strong at the kitchen sink and the hose fitting outside (both do not go through the softener). If I run an extra recharge cycle on the softener the pressure is increased. Is the softener going bad? do I have rust everywhere in my pipes? My well has a high iron content all of the neighbors also. I am having trouble understanding the water softener part of the system.
When my pressure is low the pressure still reads 60 psi.
Thanks for any advise,
Rob

Does your softener have a bypass valve? If so, then bypass the softener when you are having this problem. If the problem goes away, then you would seem to have found the problem.
