copper tubing off my ABS drain in basement

Afternoon,
I am putting a shower in the basement and have already identified my drain and vent. Here is the question-- on my drain pipe, which is ABS, I have a copper line with a fitting on it tied to the coupling on my drain. It appears to be heading over toward my vent line. I have looked down into my vent-about a foot-before it elbows and do not see an entry for the line. Adjacent to this vent and flush with concrete is a copper line and in the middle of it appears to be grounding rod. This is 2003 construction in Washington St. Any ideas on what the this might be.

Thanks to who ever can answer this one.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Can you take a picture and show us? How big is the copper line? You say there's a grounding rod in the middle of a drainage line? Now I know we want a picture. regards, tom
