A Lot of Water Leakage in Bathroom

hello. today i noticed that the toilet in the first bathroom was gurgling. i thought nothing of it but once i finished peeing i flushed and noticed that the water wasn't going down. so i got the plunger and started to try to fix it and lo and behold, about 2-4 inches of water was in the bathroom floor.

once i cleaned the floor up, i tried turning on the 2nd floor sink and bathtub water to see if the two were connected and yes, water started leaking into the first bathroom floor again. even using the kitchen sink causes the first bathroom floor to flood. what could this problem be? also, would my homeowners insurance cover this? thanks in advance.

The wax seal is designed to prevent water from leaking out when you flush. It was never meant to contain water that's backed up in your drainage system.
Sounds like you Have a major blockage downstream from the first bathroom.
The solution would be to rent a sewer machine, (see image) and snake from the first bathrooms lavatory roof vent. Put out enough cable to reach the base and 20 feet more. Good luck, Tom
