I am not sure what model number shower we have, but we built our house in 1985 and the shower says Chateau by Moen. Earlier this morning about 3 hours ago, the shower worked as it usually does, however now, the only water pressure we have going to the shower head and to the faucet to fill the tub, is for cold water. We do get hot water, but there is no pressure behind it. Any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix it?

Sounds like the hot water inlet ports of the cartridge have got clogged up with crud or mineral build up from your heater. The answer is to shut the water off and pull the cartridge and clean out the ports. However if it's mineral build up from your heater it will just happen again unless you flush your heater out on a regular maintenance schedule. Let me show you how to flush your heater. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run untill the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) and some white grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). The whole thing shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. You might want to consider cleaning the screens on your areators if you have a high mineral buildup. If thev problem still persists after you have flushed, you will have to drain the heater, remove the boiler drain and go up in the bottom of the tank with a wood or plastic rod, (not metal) and try to break up the mineral and flush it out.
