N23ic - IF I understand you right , yuo only have 10 feet of water in bottom of well, which is 125 ft deep,if so they stopped drilling to soon, but if i'm not thinking right, then youer ok on water. O.K. The well is 125 ft. deep ::: I would drop supply line down about 40 20 60 ft , and use a 1 1/2 h.p. submerged pump, I've always used 1" pvc plastic pipe, sch - 40. And had good pressure, one thing to remember is how is it durning the summer time at your location? Like this last summer here in west tenn. a lot of wells got pretty low , hot ,dry no rain, water tables got low,. keep pump at least 10 to 20 ft. above the bottom of well so you do not suck up a lot of sand into pump, it really grinds the inpellers of the pump down and plugs p pump. I have a well also it's about 80 to 100 ft. deep , water top is about30 ft below tob of water. I used a ! !/2 h.p. pump and 1" pvcdown, I put pump 40 ft. down in the water,If water table drops I can add on more pipe and have no trouble useing the same pump, I haqd no trouble running out of water this last summer,. Good Luck & GOD BLESS> IF I have answered your question, rate my answer below. ::: F.B.E.

n23ic agrees: Thanks! I may have more questions later. How far should I put the drop pipe with a well point on it down.

again about wells

How far should I put the drop pipe with a well point on it down. I dont understand correctly. was that 20 40 or 60. I am using a 1 1/4 pipe inside of a 2" casing with plastic pvc well points Is that ok or should I go down do a 1 in. Because when I hook the pump up it runs but doesnt pick up any water when I prime it.

N23IC - You said you had a 1/2 h p pump , sorry I dont think it will ever work , useing 1 1/2 " pipe plus you are trying to use a shallow well pump, if I were you I would go with a 1 1/2 h.p. pump , IF there is that much water in well, Iv'e always set the bottoms of the riser pipe at least 10 ft off of bottom of well , drop end of pipe down to 40 FT. Have a giood day & GOD BLESS::: F.B.E.
