kitchen sink drain

I dropped my earring down the kitchen sink. Anyways, I proceeded to take the drain pipes apart to find it. My earring was long gone. I put the pipes back together, and now the water won't go down. It takes about a 1/2 hour to drain. Can you help?

Sorry about the earring. Looks like you gave yourself a double whammy. Had you not drained water your earring would have lodged in the trap where it could have been retrived. Now it looks like you have dislodged some crud built up in the pipe and now you'll have to take the trap apart and snake out the line insde the wall. Go in with a auger tip on the snake and you just might snag your earring back. Good luck, Tom
