kitchen faucet making noise

Hi! We have an American Standard two-handle goose neck kitchen faucet (Cadet series) that we installed in April 2007. Recently, when we turn on the hot water it makes a screeching sound that will continue to get louder that longer the water runs. It sometimes does this when the cold is turned on, but not as often. We tried some silicone spray on it and checked the aerator, but nothing so far has helped. I want to add that this seems to happen the most when it is turned on full force.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or a possible solution. Does the valve need to be replaced?

Thank you,

Dorothy

it is likely a diverter problem. call the customer service number on the paper work you got with the faucet.

Hi! Thank you for your reply! We spoke with American Standard and they are sending us a new valve for the hot water side. Hopefully, this will do the trick!

Maybe call them back and ask for two since the cold does it every so often. I appreciate the fact that Doug told you to go back to manufacturer and not try to do all the repair yourself. Home owners should not have to repair things that are this new. I have found many companies happy to send me parts, they don't want their products to fail and look for refinements.
