How does the electricity on an ejector sewage pump work?

Does the electricity cycle on and pump the waste out automatically after a set number of flushes? At a specific time interval?Thanks!

The ejector has a float inside that determines when it is full enough to eject. The float rsise and trips a simple switch that powers the pump motor, flaot drops and the pump switches off.
