How do I increase water pressure from a well?

Greetings,

My mothers' house is about 22 years old, with a well, pvc piping, 4 year old hot water heater, and 3 bathrooms. Water pressure has gone down gradually over the years, to the point where a shower is a frustrating experience. Would you guys be kind enough to give me a checklist of problems to look for, and I'll report back as soon as I check them out?

Thanks in advance,
Sidnal

To increase pump pressure you must first locate the pump control box, (see image) and change the settings. Let me show you how. I'm going to assume that you have a "square D pumptrol and that it has a 20 PSI cut in and a 40 PSI cut off setting. First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts. One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down until the desired pressure's reached. This should give you the additional preesur you desire. Good luck .Tom
