How do I drain my washer into my bathtub drain pipe
I want to hook up an LG All in one washer/dryer in the linen closet on the opposite wall of my tub and shower. Is there an adapter or something I can use? Btw, I think the drain is cast iron.

    Hi Catran

This isn't something that an adapter will resolve for you.. ;)

You will need to install a new drain with PTRAP and a new vent to make this work out. Here, you cannot use the tub vent/drain for a washing machine drain/vent as the volume of water discharging from the washing machine can siphon the tub drain and create a health hazard for you and your family.

You can pipe this up properly, but it is quite involved and will most likely require a plumber, a plumbing permit, an electrician, an electrical permit, and yeah, electrical work and some duct work for the exhaust from the dryer.

Care to discuss more? Let me know, OK?

Mark's bang on! And here's what he's talking about. You have a lot of work to be done before your first wash. Good luck, Tom

Oh, it's 110 and I have an electrical outlet nearby. It's also ventless so that's not a problem, only the drain. I wasn't sure where it could tie into a drainpipe. I will have to get a plumber, but I need to know ahead of time where I can have him add the drain to. Since I have a condo, it's hard to know where he will need access.
