How to change two faucet knobs to one

How can I change out my Briggs brand shower hot/cold knobs? I have taken off the plastic Hot/cold indicator and unscrewed the screw. The handles won't come off. All I can see is A metal cylinder attached to the plastic hot/cold handle/knob.

My bathtub faucet consist of 2 knobs (hot/cold water) and the spout. The covers were Price Pfister. I need only these parts and want to change to Moen. Can I just buy a Moen tub kit?
