House water pressure from well losing pressure
I have a well at my home that provides the primary water . I have replaced the well pump with a new one, the pressure tank was bad replaced it, pressure switch was bad replaced it. Now I cannot maintain pressure through out my house. The initial pressure is good for about 10 seconds then it slowly disappears. Down to only a trickle, then when I shut it off for about 45 seconds to a minute the pressure builds back up. I cannot keep the constant pressure. Any advise would be helpful.

How's the quality of your water so far as iron and mineral content? Is the water hard? This is a common problem and has happened to me several times over the years. I have had well systems for the last 35 years. In my experience, when this sort of thing happens I have found that the cause is narrowing and plugging of the pipes with either mineral deposits due to water hardness or iron residue.

Did you replace any galvanized piping near the pressure tank especially at or around pressure tank and gauge? I just replaced two system pressure tanks. One Well X trol tank had become completely blocked at the factory 1" galvanized elbow located at bottom middle of tank. I would never have known had I not removed the 1" pipe that transfers water from that location at botttom outside perimeter of tank to system.

The only other thing I can think of would be a supply issue such as low well recovery rate or possibly a plugged intake screen. You don't say whether you are using filtering or water softners.

    good luck.

Give a good hard look to the check valve and replace it if it's faulty. Regards, Tom

Ok, here it goes. Came home, no water. Replaced well pump ourselves. Voilą, we have water. The pressure was pretty low though. The water pressure has gotten increasingly lower as time goes on. It just took me an hour to fill my small bath tub up halfway. It literally trickles. There is...
