Hot water then cold then hot then cold and so on.

Hello,
This is my first time using this site. I would be grateful if someone could advise me. Our upstairs bathroom's shower has only one handle to turn water on. The more you turn to the left the hotter it gets. Anyways, the water is hot for about 1-2 minutes and then runs cold for about a minute and then hot again for 1-2 minutes and then cold for a minute and so on. Could somebody please tell me what to do? We live in England and our heating system is run through radiators and a combi-boiler. Thank you very much.
