Hot water in shower for about 2 minutes then gets cold
My shower starts hot for about 2 - 3 minutes then starts turing cold. Hot water in bathroom sink is still hot when I check it out after shower goes cold. I have three handles on the shower. They are old maybe 25 -35 years old. Just started a few weeks ago.

The washer on the hot side is loose and swelling when it gets hot. Replace the washer, possibly new stems for both. What brand is it?

We live in a split-level house built in 1965; it has three residential levels plus a basement. Our bathrooms are on the upmost level, and the hot water heater is in the basement. The showers lose cold water whenever someone uses the kitchen sink, dishwasher, toilet, or bathroom sinks. The shower...
