Horrible fishy smell

Last year in the fall there was this horrible fishy smell in the bathroom leading to the bedroom. It would come in the evening and be gone within a hour or by next morning. I poured a gallon of bleach down the tub drain and it seemed to go away. Now almost a year later the same smell is returning at the same time in the evening. I have dumped some bleach down the drain but does not seem to be working. Where is this smell coming from? and why is it returning again after 11 months? Will it go away again?
