Grohe Kitchen faucet leak at connection to hose/hand spray

2 Answers We have a Euro style faucet that is leaking at the connection at the spray hose. It has been in service twenty years. I replaced the hose once, due to a leak. Now the Original Hand Spray is no longer made. The leak is coming from around the Spray hose swivel. When I take the old Hand Spray off the hose, and pull the plastic connection out of the Hand Spray (a part shaped like a 1-1/2" long (bigger at the Hand Spray end, smaller at the swivel end) funnel), this reveals a rubber grommet that appears to be worn out. The grommet is the only thing sealing the water in. It mates to a flat surface that is the top of the swivel. I cannot find such a grommet, nor does Grohe list any in the parts diagram on their website...Must I now buy a new hose? Water flows through the hose, through the swivel, into the base of the hand spray, and out. The leak is between the hand spray fitting, and the hose connection. Home depot does not sell those parts. I'm bettin' on Mr. Speedball on this one! Kind regards, Ross |

| Speedball's down for awhile so may not be able to respond here... But I'm thinking your best bet will be to take the funnel shaped washer and the hand-spray and take them over to your local PLUMBING SUPPLY HOUSE! I would have you call them 1st, however, and make sure they are an authorized Grohe distributer. Otherwise, find the local Grohe distributer and see what they have to say. For now, you may be able to wrap some teflon tape around the funnel shaped washer and then reinsert to the hand spray and tighten all up. That should buy you some time until you can replace the washer or the entire hose. Hope that helped some...  MARK | ||||
