gas smell

I have a problem that my plumber has been unable to fix on a couple of occasions. Very simply put, soon after I turn on the shower, a couple of minutes or so, I get a terrible rotten egg (sewer gas?) smell. I can't tell if it starts when it starts steaming up or just because. Shower is used daily. Sounds to me like a vent issue, but don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

SB

Most bad smells from showers come from rotting hair matted in with grease in the drain lines. Try this for the smell. Tonight before bedtine Take a 1/2gallon of bleach and pour down the drain and let set over night. Next morning ,(and this is important) flust out esch drain with two large pans of boiling water to loosen the grease and flush the mess out. Smell better now?
If not snake out the drain and do the bleach thing again. Good luck, Tom
