Funky smell coming from guest bathroom

Hello, I have a funky smell coming from my guest bathroom. Here is what I have discovered:

-The smell cannot be pinpointed. It is very difficult to tell where it is coming from. It does not seem to be coming directly from the sink drain, shower drain, or toilet.

-Seals on the bottom of the toilet are good. It isn't a 'sewer gas' type smell.

-There is no smell in the the master bathroom

-What is odd is the smell seems to be noticeable when you are standing at the toilet and taking a leak. However prior to using the toilet, if you smell the tank and the bowl you can't smell anything out of the ordinary!

-We have tried cleaning everything in the bathroom and we get a 'clean' smell for a short bit, but the 'funk' smell comes back.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you checked the electrical? the light bulbs? sometimes if you are using a higher wattage than recommended you will get a funny smell.

What changes before you take a leak?

Turn on the fan? Turn on a light? Think outside of the box and see what you do after it doesn't smell, to when it does, since you've gone through all the other options.

Could this be a electrical problem? Describe the smell. Back to you, Tom

Honestly, I don't think it is electrical at all. You can smell it sometimes when walking down the hallway past the bathroom, and then when you go into the bathroom it is more pronounced - Even when the lights have been off all day.

The smell is just kind of a funky smell. It doesn't quite smell like sewer gas, but just a funky smell that shouldn't be in there.

I've put my nose down to the toilet, sink drain, shower drain, everywhere I can think of and just can't seem to pinpoint it.

I will say that it seems more pronounced when you are standing there and taking a leak. All of my friends seem to have noticed that. However, when you smell all around the toilet and toilet water, it doesn't seem to smell the same as the room does???

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!
